Car Sales Increased by 0.5% in First Three Quarters of 2017

The number of new motor vehicles sold in Newfoundland and Labrador totalled 26,847 in the first three quarters of 2017, representing an increase of 0.5% over the first three quarters of 2016.

During the first three quarters of 2017, the value of car sales and leases was $961.8 million, up 3.9% over the first three quarters of 2016.

Canada as a whole recorded an increase (5.5%) in the number of motor vehicles sold in the first three quarters of the year. The value of national car sales increased by 10.5% over the same period.
